April in Liverpool is one of the busiest months of the year and this year is no exception. With longer days, Easter events, big shows and major events like the Grand National, there’s a real buzz across the city and wider Merseyside region.
In fact, one of the days this month might just be one of the busiest we’ve seen since starting these guides – with everything from the Grand National at Aintree and James at the M&S Bank Arena to theatre shows, live music, family events and days out happening all at once. (You’ll find all of those listed below so you can pick what suits you best!)
This Things to do in Liverpool & Merseyside in April guide brings together events, shows, family-friendly activities and days out across the region, all listed in date order to make planning easier, whether you’re looking for something to do this weekend, over the Easter holidays or just a spontaneous day out.
We’ll keep updating this post throughout the month as new events are announced, so it’s worth checking back if you’re looking for ideas.
If you’re planning ahead or looking for more inspiration, you might also find our guides to Things to do in Liverpool in March, February Half Term Activities in Liverpool and our Seasonal Events in the North West page helpful.
Some days are quieter than others, but that’s often when you’ll find the best value days out or last-minute availability.
