There are few sights cuter than baby lambs. The North West has many places where you can see newborn baby lambs and lambing experiences this Spring. Many places offer opportunities to feed the lambs and lamb petting.

Some things to remember when visiting Lambing on the farms:
- Pregnant women are advised not to visit farms where lambing is taking place as there can be a risk to Mum’s health.
- Expect mud! Don’t go wearing your best instagrammable outfits – get your wellies and waterproof coats on.
- Many farm attractions do not allow dogs.
- Book ahead – Lambing is extremely popular, making farms very busy so often close bookings.
ALWAYS check details with venues direct by clicking the blue links before heading out, especially opening hours and booking details. Information can change. Many events have indoor contingency plans in case of severe weather etc but always best to check beforehand.
Merseyside
Acorn Farm Urban Farm

This is a farm we have visited several times over the years – They do marvellous things for the community and even host fabulous parties for children. Small animal petting sessions & pony rides available. Small animal petting sessions are held every weekend, bank holiday and during Knowsley school holidays (except for Christmas school holidays).
Tickets cost £2.00 per person for a half hour session (under 12 months free of charge). Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket.
Farm Experience Days available. £20 per person – Ages 8-11.

Farm Keeper at Otterspool Adventure Petting Farm

A typical Farm Keeper Upgrade lasts for around 1 hour, and you will spend your time feeding and grooming the animals, all while providing them with the same care as our amazing Farm Team.
You will be able to;
- Get the milk bottles ready for the Lambs
- Feed the Lambs whilst assisted by the Farm Team
- Help collect the fresh eggs that the Chickens have laid that day
- Groom the Bunny Rabbits
- Participants receive a certificate to take home as a souvenir of their experience
Farm Keeper Upgrade must be booked well in advance as they are very popular.
Suitable protective clothing and footwear must be worn. Expect clothes (and yourself!) to get dirty!

Join Mrs Dowsons for bottle feeding at 30-minute intervals throughout the day between 11am and 3:30pm where you’ll roll up your sleeves and assist in feeding the new born lambs.
Children are guaranteed the opportunity to bottle-feed the lambs and goats.

Lambing Week at Tatton Park

Until 13th April 2025. Learn how the farm team spot the signs of lambing and how they look after sheep and care for lambs during this special time. 12pm & 2pm daily talks (Closed Mondays).
Tickets £9 per adult/£7 per child (4-15yrs), and from £17 – £24 per family. A value multi-attraction ticket (Totally Tatton Ticket) can be bought in advance or on the day at each attraction entrance. This gives entry to the Gardens, and the Farm, and the Mansion, and costs £16 per adult/£9 per child, and from £28 – £39 per family, dependent on the number of adults in the family group (includes up to 3 children).
NT members and their families are able to visit the Gardens and Mansion free of charge, and pay the same entry charges as other non-members for visits to the Parkland and Farm.

£5pp entry until the end of April when booking online. Also includes Highland Cows and Soft Play Area. Cafe facilities available. Booking not necessary.
Late night lamb feeding until 9pm until 30th April 2025. Have exclusive access to feed & cuddle the lambs as well as meet the expectant ewes.
Spend half an hour by yourself and you might get lucky and see a new born lamb.
Price of £50 is inclusive of your family (max 6 people).
