Family of Five Exploring the Best of the North West UK
Welcome to North West Family Adventures. We are a family of 5, who live in between Liverpool and Manchester. We have numerous interests that take us all around the North West and love discovering new events that happen in our region.
We will share events for families of all ages, teenagers, adults and couples. We love a sporty event but also love gigs and theatre trips. After blogging about recipes on Casa Costello for over 15 years, we are pleased to have a space dedicated to where to eat in the North West on this site.
Who are North West Family Adventures?
Helen
The one who writes up the adventures. Mum of the Costellos. Started blogging about 15 years ago and fell in love with building a business around it. Works part time as Head of Governance at a Multi Academy Trust and spends a LOT of time being Mum taxi. Used to run a celebration cake business but only dabbles in family cakes and novelty edible gifts now. Avid reader, running Casa Costello Reads online book group. Swimmer, flute player and trier of new things. The social secretary of the group!
Dermot
Dad of the girls – Barber and business owner for 25 years. Sporty and hard working – Part time RNLI Lifeguard on Wirral. Rarely seen sitting down – will be either open water swimming, paddle boarding, running or doing DIY.
We both love to travel and are currently on a challenge to visit all of the 238 Lifeboat Stations in the UK and Ireland. We are hoping to upgrade to a camper van within the next 12 months to take our travels to another level.
Millicent
Eldest daughter (22) – Recently moved back to the North West after graduating from University in Bristol. Now studying a Masters Apprenticeship in Architecture whilst working full-time as well as a part-time lifeguard and swim teacher. The perfectionist and organised one of the family – Always immaculately presented! Recently retired as a Team GB Artistic Swimmer after 11 years of competing around the world.
Violet
The middle daughter (18) – Just started university in the North West as a Student Paramedic. Part time RNLI Lifeguard in Sefton and pool lifeguard around the North West. The one who loves socialising, outgoing and bubbly and will say yes to anything!
Tara
The baby of the gang at 13. Footy mad – If she’s not on the pitch as Goalkeeper for one of her 4 teams, then she’s supporting her beloved Everton.
