Pumpkin picking in Lancashire is proving as popular as ever, with loads of farms, pumpkin patches and family attractions opening throughout October.

There’s a real mixture here too — some places are all about traditional pumpkin picking, while others turn it into a full family day out with farm animals, fairground rides, food, photo opportunities and Halloween activities.

Pumpkin picking dates: Saturday 10th October, Sunday 11th October, Sunday 18th October, Monday 19th October and from Saturday 24th October through half term until 31st October 2026.

Ridgeway Farm is a good option if you want pumpkin picking with a few extras rather than just turning up, grabbing a pumpkin and going home.

  • Booking is essential for both adults and children
  • Tickets cost £8.50–£12.50, including one pumpkin
  • Refreshments available including hot drinks, hot dogs and pizzas
  • Wellies recommended
  • Sessions last around two hours

If muddy fields aren’t really your thing, Windmill Animal Farm is promoting its pumpkin experience as NO MUD, NO MESS, which may appeal if you’re taking younger children.

Open weekends from Saturday 10th October 2026, 10am–5pm.

Roby Mill is another really family-friendly option and tends to offer a lot more than just the pumpkin field.
